ACF Bonding is Safer for the Environment

ACF bonding is commonly used in liquid crystal display manufacturing to create electrical and mechanical connections. Anisotropic conductive film (ACF) is lead-free and thus is safer for the environment. The adhesive interconnect system plays an increasingly important technical role in today’s information industry. Today, the micro-system packaging business is a multi-billion-dollar industry as the LCD displays are in great demand and this demand will continue to grow in the future.

This anisotropic conductive material can also be purchased in a paste form known as anisotropic conductive paste (ACP), and both when grouped together are called anisotropic conductive adhesives (ACAs). The material is commonly used to create the flex-to-board or flex-to-flex connections used in mobile phones, MP3 players, and CMOS camera modules.

Latest advances in vital areas of technology, which involves microelectronics, optoelectronics, RF and wireless, MEMS, and related packaging and assembling technologies, all utilize anisotropic conductive film bonding due to its effectiveness. The bonding can be termed as a modern termination technology for high-density flexible circuits. The circuits are responsible for providing a connection for signals. Flat screen TVs, mobile phones and computer monitors all are made using high-density flexible circuits. A variety of bonding machines are available on the market. One has to choose a reliable bonding unit at an affordable cost to make their projects profitable.

The TCW-125C is an ACF thermo-compression bonder which is semi-automatic and accommodates the heater tool. This bonder can be used for a variety of applications ranging from thermo-compression bonding of ACF or heat seal of LCD to soldering. The machine can be connected to CCD camera and LCD monitor for precision and accuracy. Workers are able to delay the work while monitoring the image from the CCD camera, so there is no wastage. TCW-125C is a compact machine that weighs only 180 lbs.
